  5. Stained Glass Windows: No report.
  6.

  7. Sound System: There is a need to install a wireless sound system and possibly a TV to transmit the Mass so that everyone can hear and view the celebration of the Mass. It was discussed that possibly the Hispanics could sponsor a fund raiser to fund this project. Joseph Rodriguez is going to propose this to the Hispanic community while Brian has been researching the cost and feasibility of doing this.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Parish Picnic: This will be held at 2:00 at Sunday, October 17th, at R.B. Wright Elementary School and the meal will be served at 3:00 o'clock. The parish will furnish the meat and everyone will bring a side dish and their own beverage. Mary Walsh got the key and Phyllis Fuches will rent the portable toilets for this event.
  2.

  3. Ladies Guild: Mary Walsh reported that the guild bought 4 diaper bags, two for Hope House and two for the hospital nursery. Food was donated to Serenity House. At this time coats and jackets are being collected for the needy and $50 was donated to "Grass Roots" for the support of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. They also visited a nursing home and Irene McGraw, who is home bound. A movie night was held at Mary's house where 10 were in attendance. The guild is asking for $10 from each lady in the parish.
  4.

  5. Bible Study: This was started up again this year at Mary's house following Mass every Sunday.
  6.

  7. Financial Report: Rich Fetterman gave his report. Most of Parish Savings went to purchasing the Parish Office. Current savings is for the stain glass windows.

  12.

  13. Christmas Parade: Joseph Rodriguez discussed our youth, both Hispanic and Anglo, possibly putting their resources together to be in the Christmas parade.
  14.

  15. Fund Raising: The council discussed different ways to raise more money to help fund the painting and other needs in addition to our usual Thanksgiving Bake Sale and Spaghetti Supper. One idea, from Joseph Rodriguez, was getting the Hispanics involved in doing a large fund raiser even the youth group because it is so large. A doughnut sale outside of Wal-Mart was discussed.
  16.

  17. Attorney: Fr. Eric brought up the subject of a young female attorney in need of a job – let him know if anyone has knowledge of an open position.
  18.

  19. Honda Transmission: Father wanted approval for spending $2332.50 (including a priestly deduction of 25%) on a new transmission for his Honda - it was approved. It was suggested that St. John Vianney parishioners might contribute to this expense. This will be followed up on by Father Eric.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned around 8:30 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric Filmer closed the meeting with a prayer.
