The Parish Council Meeting was called to order by Father Eric Filmer on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric opened the meeting with the Holy Spirit prayer. Minutes were reviewed for corrections and were approved.

 

ATTENDANCE: Mike Fuches, Phyllis Fuches, Sandy Ghelarducci, Brian Rollock, Joseph Rodriguez, Father Eric Filmer, Richard Fetterman, and Mary Walsh.

 

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Spaghetti Dinner: People still turning in monies. Father Eric put a letter in the paper to apologize for all problems that occurred during the dinner.

  3. Stained glass windows: Contractor could not continue job unless she received second portion of money. Father agreed to wire her the second payment. Her drawing was very good. Father Eric could tell she was very talented. She will do a drawing of a window and complete window before starting the next window. The third payment will be paid upon completion of all windows. All windows will be installed within a three-day period. Bishop approved for Father Eric to approve each drawing. Window committee will also approve each drawing.

  5. Out of all the new lights replaced in the Church, one light has already blown. Joe Sumner was to contact the electrician to have it replaced.

  7. Brian Rollock will contact another contractor to do what is needed in the Walsh Hall and the Church in order to see Hispanic Mass on the television.

  9. Mary Walsh will contact Bobby Cobb, sponsor for the Parish calendars, to have Mashburn print calendars.

  11. Moving Tabernacle: Bishop approved moving the Tabernacle. A drawing will not be necessary.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

  1. Election of new Council Members: The terms are up for Billy Ray Price, Troy Apodoca, Sandy Ghelarducci, Brian Rollock and Joe Sumner. Sandy stated she would be glad to do another term. Father Eric will make an announcement in the bulletin for four volunteers to run. Members need to be at least 21 years old.

  3. The Huguets will begin to visit the sick.

  5. Father Eric said he was invited to visit the Hope House to learn about services that they provide. They have a thrift Shop, nursing and heath classes for newborns, parenting and marriage counseling. They are Christian oriented. They asked what they could do for us. Their Board has recently changed and they have the need to change to better serve the community. Father Eric shared about the mother and baby that our Parish recently sent to Nebraska. Father Eric was very impressed for their services. Our Parish currently makes a monthly donation to the Hope House.

  7. • Ladies Guild Activities: Two boxes each were mailed to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Food, children’s books and clothes were donated to the Serenity House. A committee (Winona Herbick and Mary Walsh) has been set up to visit the sick Parishioners. Another committee (Peaches Hoffman, Mary Ann Grose, Ramona DeSalvo, and Mary Walsh) has been set up to take care of the food for families of the Parishioners that pass.

  9. Richard Fetterman gave the March Financial Report. Overall, did okay with collections and expenditures. Have $19,709.00 in Checking account. Had to take $5,000 from Savings which was designated for the stain glass windows to pay contractor. It was discussed sending financial help to the Priest in Haiti from the profit made from the Spaghetti Dinner. Parish Twenty Program was set up to help Haiti before the earthquake. It was suggested sending around $600 now and another $600 later in order for his safety and due to Parish finances.

 

 

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned around 8:30 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric closed the meeting with a prayer.
