April 20^th, 2010

The Parish Council Meeting was called to order by Father Eric Filmer on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric opened the meeting with the Holy Spirit prayer. Minutes were reviewed for corrections and were approved.

ATTENDANCE: Mike Fuches, Andrew Ericksen, Sandy Ghelarducci, Joseph Rodriguez, Fr. Eric Filmer, Richard Fetterman, Mary Walsh, Billy R. Price and Joe T. Sumner.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Discussed Spaghetti Dinner meeting. Several suggestions are being considered - White Elephant, play by young people. After expenses, there was a profit of $5,892.87. Total tickets sold was 1,234.

 

2. Still looking for people to fill Council Member positions. Mary Ann Grose and Lewis Ho are considered. Mary will check with Lewis Ho.

 

3. Fr. Eric thanked Joe Sumner for getting the lights changed.

 

4. David Tovar will be paid to move the Tabernacle behind the altar of the Church.

 

5. Fr. Eric sent $650.00 to the Parish in Haiti. Father will be checking out who will be handling this money, who will get it, and how it will be used.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Lunch will be provided by the Parish ladies in Walsh Hall on June 24th around 1:30 p.m. for about 80 student nurses who will be providing medical assistance for the Hispanic community.

 

2. Ladies Guild will meet at Mary Walsh's home to see the movie, "The Blind Side" on April 28th at 7:00 p.m.
   
   There is a retreat for Catholic ladies on July 23rd - 25th, 2010 in Alabama. Ladies will need to contact Sharon White or Margaret Ericksen.
   
   Donations were made to Serenity House: blankets, towels, wash cloths and bed spreads.

 

3. A financial report was given. Collections are less than expenses, making us over budget. Richard Fetterman is requested to submit additional information on the items that are under budget.
   
   Phyllis Fuches was appointed to sign cheques along with Fr. Eric when a second signature is required.

 

4. It was suggested to put a lock box over the thermostat in Walsh Hall in order to monitor the heat/air conditioning.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned around 8:30 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled on Thursday, May 13th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric closed the meeting with a prayer.
