The Parish Council Meeting was called to order by Father Eric Filmer on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric opened the meeting with the Holy Spirit prayer. Minutes were reviewed for corrections and were approved.

ATTENDANCE: Mike Fuches, Phyllis Fuches, Andrew Ericksen, Sandy Ghelarducci, Billy Ray Price, Joe Sumner, Brian Rollock, Joseph Rodriguez, Fr. Eric Filmer, Richard Fetterman, and Mary Walsh.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Bake Sale - Continue to receive donations. Current balance is $1,702.00

 

2. Light Bulbs - Council approved for Joe Sumner to contact Roger Clayton, an electrician, putting up the scaffold and changing light bulbs for $345 on a Monday.

 

3. Votive Cancles - Andrew stated that votive candles had been ordered.

 

4. Wiring of Walsh Hall - Father gave a report at the last Council meeting regarding television wiring from Walsh Hall to the Church to cover the Hispanic Mass. The Bishop gave verbal approval to do a wireless connection. Will need a television with laptop hookup for this. Will need to keep the television locked in the closet.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Fr. Eric mentioned that we have not received Parish calendars to date. Mary will get him the contact information for him to check out the order.

 

2. Brian Rollock will chair the Spaghetti Dinner this year. Bennett Willis will make the announcements during Mass for specific instructions. Tickets will be $7.00 each this year.

 

3. Mary Walsh said the Ladies Guild had no report. They will meet next Thursday.

 

4. Richard Fetterman gave the December Financial Report. He stated that $15,369 was in the checking account and $10,313 in Savings. Expenses were $829.82 more than Parish Collections in December. The utility bill was $1,100.00 in December for all four buildings. It was discussed setting the Parish Center and Walsh Hall thermostats at a certain temperature instead of turning everything off.

 

5. Father asked Richard to send the letters to each Parish member of 2009 collections by January 31st.

 

6. Mike and Phyllis Fuches offered to transport with Fr. Eric a young lady and her baby to the bus stop in Tifton.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned around 8:30 p.m. Next meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Fr. Eric closed the meeting with a prayer.
